Dan Gumbiner
President & CEO

Mr. Gumbiner is a certified public accountant with over 27 years of financial and real estate experience. As a Principal, President and Chief Executive Officer of Orion Residential, Mr. Gumbiner is responsible for the Company’s overall operations. Mr. Gumbiner has extensive relationships with a variety of equity and debt providers including public and private pension funds, corporate investors, high net worth individuals, Wall Street firms, insurance companies and both Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Mr. Gumbiner has completed in excess of $7 billion of real estate transactions during his career.

Prior to forming Orion, Mr. Gumbiner served as the Chief Operating Officer and CFO of one of the nation’s largest private owners and operators of multi-family apartment communities in the United States. Mr. Gumbiner was responsible for overseeing the Company’s capital market activities and asset management function. Mr. Gumbiner was actively involved in the firm’s expansion into Europe and Mexico.

Mr. Gumbiner spent six years as a Senior Vice President of Finance for a national real estate advisory firm.  In this capacity, Mr. Gumbiner was involved in the restructuring and liquidation of eight publicly traded real estate companies with a combined market capitalization of $3 billion. Mr. Gumbiner also served as Director of Investor Relations for the eight publicly traded companies and advised the board of directors of each of these real estate companies on a variety of public relations issues.

Mr. Gumbiner started his real estate career as a Vice President in the Capital Markets Group of a national real estate investment firm.  In this role, Mr. Gumbiner assisted in the placement of debt and equity for a variety of investment funds and partnerships.

Mr. Gumbiner is a 1980 graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelors of Science degree in accountancy.  He is a CPA and a member of both the Illinois CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Gumbiner is active in the National Multifamily Housing Council. He is involved in a variety of charitable organizations and currently is on the board of directors of K.I.D.S.S. for Kids, one of the largest affiliated auxiliaries of Children’s Memorial Hospital located in Chicago, Illinois.
